The landscapes of the USA are so vast and diverse that we in Europe find it hard to imagine. And even if the Americans are not exactly at the forefront of environmental protection, they know how to protect their national parks and their nature. Wilderness is still really wild here and the size of the country means that many animals still have real retreat areas.
